Electrotherapy at home.

The clinical-grade TENS and EMS technology used by physiotherapists, in compact devices for personal recovery and pain management at home.

What is electrotherapy

Controlled current, therapeutic effect.

Electrotherapy at home

Electrotherapy applies controlled electrical current to tissue for a therapeutic effect. It is one of the oldest physical therapy modalities in clinical practice, and still one of the most versatile.

Change the frequency, intensity and waveform and you change the effect: relieve pain, drive muscle contraction, speed healing, reduce inflammation or restore neuromuscular function.

The Globus Genesy range covers that whole spectrum, from the compact Genesy 300 Pro to the 423-programme Genesy 3000.

How it works

The electrotherapy modalities.

TENS

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Low-frequency pulses interrupt pain signals and trigger endorphin release, for acute and chronic pain relief.

EMS

Electrical muscle stimulation. Medium-frequency current drives muscle contraction, to strengthen weakened muscle and supplement training.

Interferential

Two medium-frequency currents cross inside the body to produce a low-frequency effect at depth. Effective for deep joint pain and post-surgical oedema.

Russian current

Medium-frequency neuromuscular stimulation aimed at maximal strength. Used for quadriceps strengthening after knee surgery and in elite training.

Microcurrents

Ultra-low intensity current that mirrors the body's own bioelectrical signals. Supports ATP production, wound healing and reduced inflammation.

Ionophoresis

Current drives charged drug molecules through the skin to the target tissue. Used for localised tendinopathies and joint conditions.

Clinical applications

Where electrotherapy is used.

Clinical

  • Post-surgical muscle rehabilitation, particularly knee and shoulder
  • Chronic back, neck, joint and neuropathic pain
  • Acute injury: pain and inflammation control
  • Muscle strengthening and performance work
  • Stroke rehabilitation and neuromuscular re-education
  • Pelvic floor stimulation for incontinence
  • Wound healing with microcurrent
  • Post-surgical oedema and lymphoedema

Sport

  • Pre-training activation and warm-up
  • Post-training recovery and lactic acid clearance
  • Injury rehabilitation and return-to-sport protocols
  • Supplementary EMS strength work
  • Discipline-specific programmes for triathlon, running, cycling and football
  • Maintaining muscle condition through rest periods
  • In-season management of overuse injuries
Who uses electrotherapy

Clinics, clubs, athletes and home users.

Physiotherapy clinics

A cornerstone of physiotherapy practice. One Genesy unit covers TENS, EMS, interferential and Russian current, so a whole caseload can run from a single device.

Athletes

Professional EMS and TENS for training and recovery. Triathlon Pro, Runner Pro and Cycling Pro each carry programmes built around their discipline.

Sports clubs

Pre-match activation, post-match recovery and in-season injury management, all from portable devices.

Home users

Clinical-grade pain management and recovery without clinical training. The Genesy 300 Pro and Genesy 600 are designed to be used at home.
