TECAR therapy for physiotherapy & sports medicine.

Professional TECAR therapy for physiotherapy clinics, sports medicine and rehabilitation centres. The DiaCare 5000 and DiaCare 7000, the flagship Globus TECAR systems.

What is TECAR

Transfer of energy, capacitive & resistive.

DiaCare 5000DiaCare 5000

TECAR (Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive) is a form of diathermy that uses high-frequency electromagnetic energy to generate heat from within the tissue itself, not on the surface.

Capacitive mode targets soft tissue: muscles, tendons and fascia. Resistive mode targets harder structures: bone, cartilage, ligaments and joints.

How it works

The science behind TECAR.

DiaCare 7000DiaCare 7000

High-frequency energy makes the ions and polar molecules in the tissue oscillate, creating friction and heat deep within the treated structure. The patient feels a gentle, comfortable warmth, with no muscle contraction or sharp sensation.

The controlled thermal effect increases local blood flow, speeds cellular metabolism, improves lymphatic drainage, reduces muscle tension and helps clear inflammatory mediators. The aim is faster healing, less pain and better tissue mobility.

Clinical applications

What TECAR treats.

Acute injury management

Muscle tears, ligament sprains and joint trauma. Athermal mode helps reduce inflammation and swelling in the acute phase without adding heat.

Chronic pain conditions

Chronic back pain, cervical pain, arthrosis and fibromyalgia, where poor local circulation and tissue hypoxia are factors.

Post-op rehabilitation

Recovery after ACL reconstruction, hip and knee replacement, and rotator cuff repair.

Sport performance & recovery

Pre-competition warm-up, post-competition recovery and injury prevention protocols.

At a glance

Conditions and benefits.

Conditions treated

  • Musculoskeletal injuries: muscle tears, strains and contusions
  • Tendinopathies: Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff and hamstring
  • Joint pathologies: arthrosis, arthritis and capsulitis
  • Ligament sprains: ankle, knee and wrist
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation and scar tissue
  • Chronic back pain and cervical syndrome
  • Disc herniation and sciatic nerve pain
  • Fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome

Key benefits

  • Faster healing for acute and chronic injuries
  • Deep tissue reach beyond surface therapies
  • Pain relief through thermal and neurological effects
  • Anti-inflammatory action
  • Rapid muscle relaxation without drugs
  • Non-invasive, drug-free and comfortable
  • Short sessions, typically 15 to 25 minutes
Who uses TECAR

From clinics to elite sport.

Physiotherapy clinics

TECAR is one of the most in-demand modalities in physiotherapy, helping clinics attract patients and offer a premium treatment.

Elite sports clubs

Football, rugby and cycling squads use TECAR as a primary soft-tissue tool for injury management and recovery.

Sports medicine

Used to treat acute injuries and chronic overuse conditions across all disciplines.

Rehabilitation centres

Used in post-surgical and neurological rehabilitation to support recovery and reduce scar tissue.
